Cheshire West Museums have been awarded a fantastic grant of £294,000 from Arts Council England to explore, interpret and make accessible the industrial heritage of the area.
The funding is also shared by partners at the National Waterways Museum, Ellesmere Port and part of the grant will cover two year-long posts working across the sites involved. A Community Development Officer will be appointed to create an exciting programme of activities and engage with community groups to build volunteer support. An Audience Development Officer will create exciting new displays at both sites reflecting the history of local industries.
The new interpretation and programmes of events will start appearing in late 2013. Watch this space for all the latest news on the developments.
