How to get here
By bus
10 minutes walk from the bus station behind Chester Town Hall.
By train
20 minutes journey from Chester Railway Station. Take the shuttle bus from directly outside the station entrance to the city centre (ticket £1). The museum is a 15 minute walk from the bus stop.
By car
The nearest public car park is The Little Roodee Coach and Car Park on Castle Drive a 5 minute walk away from the museum. There is a disabled parking bay outside the museum.
Access issues
The Grosvenor Museum has full independent access to the ground floor, including Exhibition Gallery One, the Lecture Theatre, the ground floor of the Period House, the Roman Gallery and the Roman Stones Gallery and accessible toilet.
The Art Gallery, Silver Gallery, Natural History Gallery and Exhibition Gallery Two are on the first floor, the Education Workroom is on the second floor. There is no lift.
Refreshments
There is no café at the museum but there is a hot and cold drinks machine on the first floor outside the Kings Arms Kitchen. There are many cafes, restaurants and pubs nearby. You are welcome to eat your packed lunch in the Kings Arms Kitchen, however please note there is no disabled access. The Kings Arms Kitchen is used by schools over lunch periods during term time.

The shop stocks a range of books, greetings cards and historical gifts.
